Ghanaians Are Not Fools to Vote for Dr. Bawumia

In a bold statement, the Director of Conflict Resolution for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Anabila has expressed skepticism about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s candidacy in Ghana’s upcoming 2024 elections. According to the NDC official, Ghanaians are unlikely to support Dr. Bawumia due to the current economic hardships many citizens face under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

He declared, “Ghanaians, having endured this economic hardship, are not fools to vote for Dr. Bawumia.” He emphasized that electing Bawumia would mean Ghanaians are consenting to continue their hardships.

The official continued by addressing another controversial issue: constitutional interpretation. He challenged the prevailing view that only the Supreme Court has the authority to interpret Ghana’s constitution, asserting that the document’s language is clear and accessible to all citizens. According to him, while the Court has the final say in cases of conflicting interpretations, Ghanaians do not need court mediation for everyday understanding.
