NPP Withdraws from All Media General Platforms Over Alleged Bias

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced its immediate withdrawal from all Media General platforms,
The party, in a statement signed by Richard Ahiagbah, Director of Communications, highlighted its concerns over what it described as repeated attacks on its leaders, biased paneling, and the disruptive hosting of political programs.

According to the NPP, despite engaging with Media General’s management since 2023 to address these concerns, no significant changes have been made to ensure fairness. The party mentioned specific instances, such as inflammatory remarks made against former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during a show hosted by Madam Keminni Amanor, which the host failed to address or challenge.

The statement also criticized programs like “Key Points” and “New Day,” accusing them of consistently featuring biased paneling and discussions that deliberately favor the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). The party emphasized that its decision to withdraw is aimed at safeguarding its credibility and ensuring accountability for biased reporting, particularly as it continues to challenge the performance of the John Mahama administration.

The NPP urged its members to adhere to the withdrawal directive and assured the Ghanaian public that it remains committed to fulfilling its responsibilities as the largest opposition party.
