Australia Awards Scholarships 2026: Now Open for Ghanaian Applicants

The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat has officially announced the call for applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships 2026 intake, offered by the Australian Government. These prestigious scholarships aim to nurture the next generation of global leaders by providing Ghanaian students with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies in Australia.

About the Scholarship

The Australia Awards Scholarships are fully funded and intended for Ghanaian men and women who demonstrate strong intellectual promise and a commitment to contributing meaningfully to national development upon completion of their studies.

Priority Fields of Study

Applicants can apply to study for a Master’s degree in the following priority areas:

• Agriculture and Food Security

• Climate Change

• Foreign Policy and International Security

• Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion

• Mining Engineering

Scholarship Package

The scholarship package includes:

• Full tuition fees

• Return airfare

• Established allowance and living expenses

• Health cover

• Supplementary academic support

• Fieldwork allowance (if required by course)

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the 2026 intake, applicants must:

• Be a Ghanaian citizen

• Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to an Australian degree

• Be at least 25 years old by 1st February 2026

• Have a minimum of 5 years postgraduate work experience in a field relevant to the proposed course of study

• Be employed at the time of application

Not have previously received a long-term Australia Award

Women are highly encouraged to apply

Mode of Application

All applications must be submitted online via the OASIS platform. Required documents include:

• Passport

• Undergraduate degree certificates

• Academic transcripts

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)

• Employer’s reference report

• Academic referee report
