Serwaa Hieghts Holds First Hostel Safety And Health Orientation Workshop

Serwaa Height Hostel, a privately managed student accommodation facility operated by Leonards Homes Property Management Limited, has organized what is believed to be the first comprehensive Hostel Orientation Workshop of its kind in Ghana, focusing on Rules, Regulations, Prohibitions, and Safety & Health for student residents.

The landmark workshop took place on Saturday, 24 January 2026, at the forecourt of Serwaa Height Hostel, located adjacent to Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The initiative sets a new national benchmark for student accommodation safety and responsible hostel management.

A major highlight of the programme was an intensive Emergency Response, First Aid, and Firefighting Fire Safety Training, making it the first time such structured, multi-agency safety training has been organized specifically for hostel residents in the country. The workshop aimed to equip students with practical, life-saving skills while fostering a culture of safety, discipline, and preparedness.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Business Development at Leonards Homes Property Management Limited and Estate Manager of Serwaa Height Hostel, Mr. Riffath-Yakub Abubakar, emphasized the pioneering nature of the initiative and the organization’s commitment to student welfare.
