Ato Ulzen-Appiah is a renowned social entrepreneur, consultant, blogger, digital influencer, and mentor. He is the Director of the GhanaThink Foundation, an organization dedicated to mobilizing and organizing talent for the primary benefit of Ghana. Recognized for his commitment to youth development and volunteerism, Ato was named African Male Youth of the Year in 2018.
He’s the director of the GhanaThink Foundation, a social enterprise that mobilizes & organizes talent, with programs in networking, mentoring, volunteering, and training targeting youth. Under his leadership, the GhanaThink Foundation has spearheaded impactful programs such as Barcamp Ghana, Junior Camp Ghana, Ghana Volunteer Program (National Volunteer Day), and Komseko. These initiatives inspire and empower Ghanaian youth to engage in volunteerism, career development, and community service.

He studied at MIT and Stanford in civil engineering and management disciplines. Ato moved to Ghana from the US to work with Google, where he served as a program manager overseeing tech events across Africa and building sustainable tech communities. He later transitioned to Rancard, where he worked as a product manager, innovating revenue services in payments and content hosting. Ato also co-founded Museke.com, an African music website focused on lyrics, demonstrating his passion for promoting African culture. He has consulted for various organizations, including the International Trade Centre and the World Bank.
Currently, Ato is the Entrepreneurship Development Specialist at the Kosmos Innovation Center, where he supports agribusiness startups by providing advisory services and guiding them to launch their businesses. He manages the KIC AgriTech Challenge, a flagship program designed to foster innovation in the agribusiness sector.

Ato’s influence extends beyond Ghana. He has participated in numerous international forums, including serving as a guest panelist on Digital Media and Entertainment during the 16th Annual Africa Business Conference at Harvard Business School in 2014. Sharing the stage with leading figures like Solo Nnanna, Ade Olufeko, and Uzodinma Iweala, he contributed valuable insights into the intersection of digital media, entertainment, and African development. He has also spoken at the World Bank, African Business Conference at Harvard, Atlantic Dialogues as well as World Economic Forum meetings in Davos, Cape Town, Abuja, and Kigali.
