Who Should Apply?

Eligibility Requirements

Recent PhD graduates (completed no earlier than January 1, 2023; extensions available for career interruptions).
Degree in natural sciences or engineering (includes computer science & mathematics).
No concurrent postdoctoral fellowships—must resign from other positions if awarded.
Supervisor with a full-time U of T appointment (AI co-supervisor required if primary lacks AI expertise).

Note: Priority is given to new postdoctoral projects with new supervisors. Previous recipients of prestigious U of T fellowships are ineligible.

  • Strong potential for AI adoption in their research
  • A compelling research vision with clear AI applications
