DON’T LOOK FAR – A Beacon Of Wisdom From Eben Ace.
The love you are looking for
may not be too far,
look around you.
The true friendship you need
may not be too far,
look beside you.
The peace you desire to have
may not be too far,
look within you.
Sometimes, just sometimes,
don’t look too far for gold,
when you are standing beside one.
Don’t look too far for roses,
when a bundle is stretched out to you.
Don’t look too far for love,
when the people around you care.
Don’t look too far.
There’s beauty in your pure smiles.
There’s strength in your steady healing.
There’s hope in your rising faith.
There’s home, right here, not faraway.

As I reflect on these verses, it strikes me that the love we yearn for, the kind that paints the world in vibrant hues, may not be a distant mirage. Instead, it may be nestled in the everyday moments, in the familiar faces that surround us. The poet, much like a sage friend, encourages us to open our eyes to the beauty of the present, urging us to look around and recognize the love that dwells in the hearts of those close to us.
The theme of proximity extends to the realm of friendship, reminding us that true companionship is not an elusive butterfly, fluttering just out of reach. Instead, it is a steadfast presence, waiting patiently by our side. The poet resonates as a reassuring whisper, urging us to turn our gaze toward the bonds we have forged, recognizing the strength that lies in the connections we often take for granted.
In the quest for peace, the poet directs our focus inward. The peace we desire, a serene sanctuary amid life’s chaos, may not be a distant destination but a state of being within ourselves. It’s a gentle nudge to delve into the reservoirs of inner calm, discovering that tranquility is not an external gift but a treasure awaiting our recognition within.
The verses advocating against searching too far for gold, roses, or love serve as a beacon of wisdom. It’s a plea to appreciate the abundance that surrounds us, to acknowledge the richness of the present moment. Gold may be standing beside us, a metaphor for the priceless relationships and experiences that shape our lives. Roses may not require an arduous quest when a bundle is extended to us, representing the simple joys that grace our existence. Love may not demand a far-reaching pursuit when genuine care emanates from the people in our immediate circles.
As the poet unravels these truths, there is a celebration of self, an acknowledgment of the inherent beauty in our smiles, the strength in our healing processes, and the hope that burgeons from our unwavering faith. It’s a reassurance that within us lies a home, a sanctuary not faraway but intricately woven into the fabric of our being.
